Students:

After our discussion with Mrs. Seddighi today and our reading conferences since the beginning of the year, how do you notice yourself growing as a reader? What are some reading goals you can share? How are your book choices/book goals changing?

Energy

What are different forms of energy that you discovered (indirectly or directly!)?

Have you discovered the location of where the Consitituion document is located? Any other cool facts that you can share?

Falling into being a fabulous third grader

Students:
How awesome did it feel outside out recess today? It seems like once fall starts arriving that the school year seems official. Today I noticed how much you are really starting to blossom into third graders and shed that second grade skin!

What is the biggest change you've noticed in your new third grade self? Are you more responsible? Sharing more? Taking more risks? Something else?

Parents, have you noticed any positive changes in your third grader?

PS-Congrats to Cate and Ryan for being Student of the Week and Mathematician! I'm sure they are watching for who they will pick next!

Student Awards

I just wanted to give a special "shout out" to Greyson and Julia for being our awesome Student of the Week and Mathematician winners. They also got our coveted (wow word...let me know when you find the meaning!) first You Sparkle awards! I can't wait to see who they will pick as their replacements on Monday!!

Bluebonnets

Students:

I hope, hope, hope that you are checking out those new Bluebonnet books this year. Bluebonnets are Texas award winners and a great way to try out a new book! Plus, you get to be part of a special event with Mrs. Seddighi, our librarian, when you read any 5 Bluebonnet books.

College Week

Students:
The week of Sept. 12th is College Week. Do you have any college ambitions that you can share with us? Do you think you know where you want to attend college?

When Mrs. Jones was young, I was sure I wanted to go to college to be a pediatrician, which is doctor for little kids. What was I thinking? I can't stand blood and I get woozy when someone in our class has a loose tooth. I think I made the right choice for me when I became a teacher!!!

Mrs. Jones graduated college from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I wonder if you could find anything out about my college...
